Well, I've been on the channel for two years now, but its taken me awhile
to finally be on the homepage. :) As you know, I'm torte...and through the few years that
I've been on irc, I've gone through manyidentity crisis. People seem to think it means
some tasty pastry, but what it really means is short for tortoise, because I happen to
collect turtles. Well Ok, not real ones...but anything that has to do with them. Somehow
tho, Ive been transformed to tortie, tortle, and torty. Notthat I mind, of course... :)
So my real name is Alison Keegan...Im from Connecticut originally...but currently living
and attending university in Washington DC. (No I was NEVER an intern at the Whitehouse ;))
Im almost 21 years old!! woohoo. As my birthday is 5 May 1977. Im a print journalism and
sociology major. I first started irc when I came to college...and literally just stumbled
upon it. I guess Im too curious for my own good because now three years later, here I am,
still going at it. :) My best friend, Madkat, also attends university with me, and I think
she's how I stumbled into #scotland. I believe the first two people I talked to were Surge
and Maclenn. Surge was the first person who talked to me, and who pioneered to give me ops
after only a few weeks. (Thanks Surge :)) And Maclenn was the one who taught me all the
commands to the bots and who basically showed me my way around the channel.

What other info....well believe it or not, I have a life outside IRC.
(Shocking, isnt it? ) I play tennis and am always looking for a good partner so if you
play, give me a holler. :) I love traveling: Have been to France and England and In
Canada...Montreal and Vancouver. Haven't been to too many places in the U.S., of course
all of New England, Virginia, and Seattle, Washington. My favorite state would have to be
Maine...and if any of you are ever up in that territory, check out Ogunquit...its the most
beautiful place I know. Besides that, I love music...Im an 80's gal with a love for
British music like James, New Order, the Cure, Catherine Wheel, Electronic, Erasure, Duran
Duran, Peter Gabriel and many many others. When Im not on irc or studying, Im hanging out
with friends or by myself down on the Mall...no no not shopping mall (those are good too
:)) but down where all the Monuments are...its a beautiful place to hang out and there are
so many things to do! (Hint: If you're ever in the DC area, let me know and I'll be happy
to play tour guide :)) What else ? Umm hmmm...#scotland has become like a home, and its
been fun getting to know everyone. Its a crazy bunch but we have the best of times, and
hopefully someday I'll get a chance to meet more of you than I have. Id love to hear from
