Pozzy

Hi, I am PoZzY. Yeah, I know it's kind of a strange name. Let me tell you how I got it. When I first got IRC at the end of October, 1995, my original nick was Pozfam. Yup, that's even stranger. Well the Poz is part of my last name and fam stands for family. I wandered into a couple of channels, but nobody would talk to me. Then, l joined #Scotland for my very first time. Somebody actually said hi :-) It was Pict and he started calling me PoZzY. I liked the way it sounded, so I kept the nick. Thank you Pict, for giving me my nick and being my first friend on IRC. :)) Ever since then I have made lots of new friends. In the beginning, I really did not know all that much about IRC or how to use it. One day I met my now good friend Snoopie aka: the Snoopster in the channel and we got to talking. Somebody changed the channel topic and I thought it was really cool. So I asked Snoopie if he would give me ops. He gave me a resounding NO!!! Then he explained to me that he didn't know me well enough to give me ops. With all my begging and pleading he stuck to his guns and made me wait awhile. From that day on, almost everyday I speak to Snoopie. He is slowly teaching me how to really breeze around in IRC and I really enjoy our chats. And then there is McNasty. For a while there I couldn't figure out what he was talking about, but he always sounds so happy when he is talking. One time McNasty told me that the servers charge by the hour for their usage and its a hidden charge that my provider didn't tell me about. I nearly went crazy with fear because on my previous addiction (Prodigy) one month I totalled up $176 in extra charges and my husband almost lost it. He finally let me off the hook and told me it was a joke. McNasty has become one of my closest friends on IRC. If I am feeling down, all I need is just a wee bit of time on IRC with the Nasty man to cheer me up. I can't forget to mention Sweden's official President of the David Letterman fan club. My pal Mathe aka Axl. I was so fascinated with meeting people from all over the world that I really didn't think about my own town until I met Fally. She and I have gotten close through girl talk over the last month or so. And a note to Catherina, I would love to have you to come stay at my house for a while. Sure, bring the dog. :)) We will set you and the puppy up in your own room. I also want to give a special thank you to Iggy for his great conversation, practical jokes, as well as the creation of the #Scotland Home Page, and for letting me redo my bio.

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Sandi and I was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 6, 1959. Yikes, I am getting closer to the BIG 40. For those of you who are wondering, yes I have a very heavy NY accent. Some of ya have tauked to me over the phone already and have found that out. Hey, what can I say, I wouldn't be a N'Yawker if I didn't have the accent. It kind of goes with the territory :)

I am married to a great guy named Jay. He also shows up on #Scotland from time to time. Some of you already know him. His nick is J-Meister. He decided, after looking at the back of my head for hours on end that he better join in on the fun because he was getting worried that he was never going to see me again.

Jay and I have two wonderful children. Both boys. Alex is 7 years old going on 37. I can't believe the things that come out of this boys mouth at times. We feel that someday Alex will probably be his own little computer genius all over IRC and the www. Lee is the baby. He will be 3 in April. He is a really great kid but for the life of me I just can't keep up with that boy. If there is something in the house he hasn't explored yet, he will soon, and I sincerely hope he doesn't break it as he has done so often in the past.

Although I spend most of my free time on IRC, I do have a few other hobbies. I love history, especially Scottish and English history during the 16th and 17th century. I would rather read a book on history than one of those trashy Jackie Collins' novels any day. If it so happens to be a trashy novel that takes place in Scotland, all the better. I am also an amateur genealogist. I have traced a branch of my family back to my great-great grandparents. I have achieved this through extensive research sitting for hours in the NY Public library going through tons and tons of microfilm. Not to mention reading a hell of alot of tomb stones at the family cemetery. I have not worked on my research in some time though, because raising a family doesn't leave me much time. I also enjoy cooking. So if there is anybody out there who would like to swap recipes, lets talk. I like to experiment with new dishes and then test them on my family.

I like most types of music except for that really loud heavy metal stuff. Some of my favorites artists are Queen, Jethro Tull, 10,000 Maniacs, Melissa Etheridge, Gloria Estefan, Joshua Kadison, The Indigo Girls, Barbra Streisand, Elton John and many others.

I have done a bit of traveling but that was all done B.C. (before children). The places that I have visited are England, France, Holland, Belgium, Mexico, Jamaica and Canada. I also vacationed at many of the states including California, Nevada and Florida (that was to visit my in-laws so that doesn't really count as a vacation) :> I just loved to travel but nowadays we just go to these family resort type hotels that have daycamp and babysitting. If they don't have that, we go somewhere else. On my next major excursion I plan on making Scotland my first stop.

You folks that know me, know that I like to talk ALOT. If you would like to get to know me better, please don't hesitate to email me at pozfam@ix.netcom.com

"I would like to say a few words in memory of my good friend Rob (Snoopie) who had an untimely passing on Friday December 5th, 1997. Rob you will truly be missed by alot of people including myself. You touched so many peoples lives with your help and friendship to others. It was always a pleasure to see you in #scotland. The channel or IRC will not be the same without you. Farewell my friend...may you rest in peace."
