Alba (or more usually Alba2 since a nick collision with a bloke in Zurich) is a certain Alexander Blair, usually known as Sandy except in irc land where being called 'Sandy' is an invitation for teenage geeks to pester you with enquiries about the size of your breasts.
He lives in Glasgow despite numerous petitions by his neighbors. As if being born in Fife 34 years ago isn't enough of a handicap, he lived in Edinburgh for 4 years and Dundee for 2 (though the Dundee period seemed longer) before moving to Glasgow in the mid 80s.
For entertainment and amusement Alba likes... well nevermind about that, however he is an utter trivia obsessed anorak when it comes to obscure pop music, be warned that this is one guy you don't want to be stuck in the kitchen at parties with.
Note reference a Jona Lewie single (Stiff records, reached No 16 in 1980) and also note he ended that previous sentence with a preposition.
And anyway, since he recently arrived at a party with a set of overhead slides titled '300 mildly interesting songs about fish' he doesn't get invited to parties any more. This means that sociologist will no longer be able to study how he manages to get roaring drunk even though he only ever turns up carrying 2 cans of Safeways budget lager and a packet of cheese and onion crisps.
Note reference to Splodgenessabounds single (Deram records, reached No 7 in Jun 1980), also note he began that previous paragraph with a conjuction.
Alba has no socially redeeming features whatsoever, a fact about which he is misguidedly proud.
